40 posts ยท Joined 2018. #1 ยท Jul 26, 2021. Recently went for a drive in my 2007 2.2 X type, and upon turning on the ignition, the ABS warning light, and DSC system fault message came up. These warnings come on before the car even starts moving. I've checked the front wheel speed sensors, and have cleaned them, however the warnings still pops up.

The real clue is the additional amplifier in the boot. Yes, factory fitted premium sound does have the tweeters in the doors and the Alpine speakers, but anyone could add those later to a non-premium system. Having the correct wiring loom is a tricky one. Normally Jaguar will fit the correct loom for each variant of car.
Posted October 20, 2014. My '05 X-Type had suffered all the problems identified here; black smoke on acceleration, slight misfire getting worse, reduced fuel economy. The problems are all gone now - I have had the following work done; 1. Clean the EGR valve - reduced to about 40% opening at one end.
